600+ Little Things That Make a Big Difference

Here is a sample of what is covered in the book:

*Substitutions – When a player goes into the game, he/she must have a towel or a shooter shirt.  That towel is put on the chest of the person who is being subbed for.  This insures that there will be communication between the two, mainly “who am I guarding!”, plus any other pertinent information.

*Uniforms – This is always an issue!  If possible, try to have at least 5-7 more uniforms than players.  Mostly, this will insure they all have a “good fit”!

*Alumni – Put pictures in the locker room of your all district or all conference players and those who go on to play at the next level.  This will help inspire your players and endear your basketball alumni to your program.

*Referees – As a coach when talking to an official during the game, try to keep your hands in your pockets!  Hand gestures enhance the visual effect of your disagreement with them.

*Parents – Have your JV parents work the concession stand during the varsity game and your varsity parents work the concession stand during the JV game.  That way they can all see their children play, and it won’t seem so bad for them!

This book is a compilation of decades of experience from coaches of all levels of play, who have accumulated:
